Real Time Data (RTD) from Hy-Tek not outputting to Galaxy display

Potential Symptoms

  • RTD from Hy-Tek Meet Manager not outputting to Galaxy display.
  • Both com ports for both computers are registering driver for USB to serial adaptor in Device Manager.
  • Com ports are set up correctly in Hy-Tek Meet Manager and Venus 1500 RT.
  • No data coming through on Input monitor of the Venus 1500 RT when data sent from Meet Manager.
  • Unable to send data back and forth through each other through HyperTerminal.
  • Relocate USB to serial adaptors on another com port with no resolution.

Environment

  • Product: Venus 1500 using Real Time (RT)
  • Component: USB to Serial adaptors (both computers)
  • Control System: Hy-Tek Meet Manager, Venus 1500 V3

Cause

  • Bad USB to serial adaptor or serial cable between the two computers.

Resolution

  • Replace faulty component.
