Problems communicating with 2 or more AF-3500 displays using ADAM switch; NIC speed of controller incorrect
Potential Symptoms
- Problems communicating with multiple displays through the ADAM switch.
- Cannot communicate to displays using Venus 1500 software.
- Unable to PING second display after establishing a connection to one of them but if power is cycled I can.
- Upon simultaneous power up of two controllers set to 10 half, one of the two or both will not negotiate a connection with the switch.

Cause
- The controllers Network Interface Card (NIC) speeds are not negotiating properly between the sign and the attached on-site network.
Resolution
- Use M2Config to change the NIC setting of the controller to auto-negotiate. Follow How to change the NIC settings on a Galaxy controller using the M2Config utility, DD2372767 to locate details on how to adjust and find the NIC settings within M2Config.
- Under the Configuration tab, and inside the Communications folder you will find the NIC settings. Check the box for Automatic.
- Go to File and select Set Configuration (or use the blue down arrow). This will reset the display.
- The new settings will be applied after the display boots up.
- Continue and do the same for the rest of the displays on the network that is using the ADAM switch..
