How to Run Data Distributor Test Patterns Directly from The DD

Resolution
DD 1000 SERIES
- Locate the jumpers next to the RS-232 jack. There are 2 sets (W1 and W2).
a. W1 is the to the right while looking at the display board. - Move the Jumper on W1 from the top set of pins to the bottom set to display the Test Pattern.
- Make sure all jumpers are moved back to original position when completed.
DD 2000 SERIES
- Locate S2 which is a 4 dipswitch bank along the edge of the DD next to the Data Comm Card.
- Close (Turn On) DIP switch #2.
- Make sure all switches are put back to original positions for the display configuration after completion. The list below provides information on the switch settings.

DD 2500 SERIES
- Locate S1 which is a 4 DIP switch bank located towards the center of the DD.
- Use DIP switches 1, 2 and 3 to select various Test Patterns as shown below.
- Make sure all switches are put back to original positions after completion.

DD 3000 SERIES (INCLUDES DD 3000, DD 3100, AND DD 3200)
- Locate S2 which is a 4 DIP switch bank that is located towards the center of the DD.
- Use DIP switch 1, 2, and 4 to select the various Test Patterns as shown below.
- Make sure all switches are put back to original positions after completion.
Note: DIP switch 3 enables the diagnostics communications type: Up=RS 232, Down=Fiber. If changing from fiber to wire communication (connecting directly to DD instead of going through diagnostics) the fiber diagnostic wires must be disconnected and power cycled to the DD).

- Locate S2 which is a 4 DIP switch bank that is located towards the center of the DD.
- Use DIP switch 1, 2, and 3 to select various Test Patterns as shown below.
- Make sure all switches are put back to original positions after completion.

DD 404X SERIES

Locate the 5 Push Buttons near the LCD Screen on the DD. Push the Center button twice, this will put the DD into the Test Pattern menu. Push the Right Button to scroll through the possible Test Patterns. Push the Center Button to select the desired Test Pattern. Push the Left button and then the Center button to disable Test Patterns.
- Locate the 5 Push Buttons near the LCD Screen on the DD.
- Push the Center button twice, this will put the DD into the Test Pattern menu.
- Push the Right Button to scroll through the possible Test Patterns.
- Push the Center Button to select the desired Test Pattern.
Note: Test Patterns may take a few minutes to load depending on the size of the display.- Push the Left button and then the Center button to disable Test Patterns.

Tips for All DD Troubleshooting- Consider the orientation of the DD when trying to find the location of the DIP switches. This may vary depending on the DD location.
- Always remember to disable the Test Patterns before displaying normal content.
- If the Test Pattern will not disengage, try rebooting DD.
