Static and scrolling text, scrolling text not playing properly, static text not in a text box

Potential Symptoms

  • Presentation created in Content Studio with both static text and scrolling text elements previews correctly, but when published to sign, the scrolling text area does not scroll or may be blank.
    • The scrolling text may appear static; may move or "teleport" across the display.

Cause

  • Static text portion of presentation is directly typed onto the layout, while the scrolling text element is in a scrolling text box.

Resolution

  • Use separate text boxes, one for the static text, another for the scrolling text.
