How do I loop a timeline during playout in Camino 8?
Topic
Camino 8: Timeline looping during live playout
Environment
-
- Product: Video Systems
- Component: DMP-8000, Camino, Camino 8, VCS
- Control System: Show Control
Steps
Configure the timeline animation
- Open the applicable project and template in Camino 8.
-
2. Open the Timelines panel.
-
3. Select the timeline that should repeat during playout.
-
4. Confirm the timeline contains the necessary keyframes and property changes for the intended animation.
-
5. Select the existing Loop control for the timeline.
-
6. Use the timeline playback control to preview the animation in the editor.
-
7. Confirm the animation restarts and continues playing until playback is stopped.
The looping selection is stored separately for each timeline. Enabling looping for one timeline does not automatically enable it for other timelines in the template.
Configure the timeline for playout
- Open the Transitions panel.
-
2. Select the transition or event that should start the animation.
-
3. Add an action that plays the applicable timeline when the template goes on-air.
-
4. Save the transition configuration.
-
5. Save the Camino project.
-
6. Open the project in the playout workflow.
-
7. Place the template on the applicable channel.
-
8. Take the template on-air.
-
9. Verify that the timeline configured to loop repeats continuously during playout.
-
10. Verify that timelines without looping enabled execute once per activation.
The demonstrated workflow used transition actions to start two timelines when the template went on-air. One timeline continuously repeated while the second timeline completed a single animation cycle.
Additional information
-
- Loop settings are saved per timeline and persist between sessions.
- Duplicated timelines inherit loop settings.
- Legacy projects default to Loop Off.
- The existing Loop control now works in both preview and live playout, including API-driven playout.
Important: Verify timeline behavior before going on-air.
