DMP UX: Import Configuration from Flash Drive and Use the Profile Page

The Profile Page in DMP UX provides a centralized location for managing configuration profiles. Users can:

  • Save the current system configuration as a profile.
  • Delete saved configuration profiles.
  • Import configurations from a USB flash drive.
  • Save selected configurations to a flash drive.
  • Load a configuration from a flash drive and apply it to the current system.

Environment

DMP-8000 UX

Steps

Prerequisites

  • DMP UX is running.
  • A USB flash drive containing configuration files is connected (for import/export operations).

 

Access the Profile Page

  1. Open DMP UX.
  2. Select the Profile Configuration icon from the left navigation menu.

Profile Page Overview

The Profile Page contains two main sections:

Config Profiles

Manage profiles stored on the local system.

Options include:

  • Save the current configuration as a profile.
  • Load a saved profile.
  • Delete a saved profile.

Flash Drive

Manage configuration files located on a connected USB flash drive.

Options include:

  • Import configurations from a flash drive.
  • Save selected configurations to a flash drive.
  • Load a configuration directly from a flash drive.

Save the Current Configuration as a Profile

Use this feature to create a backup of the current configuration settings.

  1. Navigate to the Config Profiles section.
  2. Select Save Current Config as Profile.
  3. The profile is saved and added to the profile list.

A confirmation message appears after the profile is successfully saved.

Delete a Saved Profile

  1. Locate the profile in the Config Profiles list.
  2. Select the Delete (X) button next to the profile.
  3. Verify the profile has been removed from the list.

Note: Deleting a profile removes it from the local system and cannot be undone.

 

Import Configurations from a Flash Drive

  1. Insert a USB flash drive containing configuration files.
  2. In the Flash Drive section, select Load from Flash Drive.
  3. DMP UX automatically detects the connected flash drive.
  4. The Manage Configs in Flash Drive window opens, displaying available configurations.

Save Selected Configurations from the Flash Drive

  1. In the Manage Configs in Flash Drive window, select one or more configuration files.
  2. Select Save Selected Configs.
  3. A confirmation message appears when the configurations have been saved successfully.

Load a Configuration from a Flash Drive

Use this feature to apply a configuration stored on the flash drive to the current system.

  1. Open the Manage Configs in Flash Drive window.
  2. Select the desired configuration.
  3. Select Use Selected Config.
  4. Review the confirmation dialog.
  5. Select Continue to apply the configuration.

Important

When a configuration is loaded from a flash drive, the system applies the configuration to the current DMP.

The imported configuration overwrites existing configuration settings, with the exception of:

  • Computer Name
  • Network Settings

 

Expected Result

After loading a configuration:

  • The selected configuration becomes the active system configuration.
  • Profile page information updates to reflect the loaded configuration.
  • Existing configuration settings are replaced, except for the computer name and network settings.
