Device Configuration Platform Power Management User Experience Updates

The Device Configuration Platform now includes an updated Power Management interface that simplifies the configuration of power outputs and hibernate schedules while providing improved visibility into device power status.

The redesign introduces:

  • A modernized Power Management configuration panel
  • Simplified scheduled hibernate management

Redesigned Power Management Configuration

The Power Management configuration experience has been updated with a streamlined slide-out panel that consolidates all power management settings into a single interface.

Administrators can:

  • Configure power managers
  • Select managed outputs
  • Set power delays for managers and outputs
  • Configure manual or scheduled operating modes
  • Review all power management settings from one location

Note: Manual power state triggering is not available in the new configuration interface. Users can continue to manually change power states through existing controls available elsewhere in the platform, such as the Displays application and legacy management interfaces.

Scheduled Mode Enhancements

The Scheduled Mode interface has been redesigned to make schedule creation and management more intuitive.

Creating Schedule Entries

To create a schedule:

  1. Select one or more days of the week.
  2. Choose the desired time.
  3. Select the power action (Hibernate On or Off).
  4. Select Add to Schedule.

This workflow allows a single entry to be applied across multiple days, reducing repetitive configuration.

Managing Existing Entries

The Scheduled List provides a consolidated view of all configured schedule entries.

Users can:

  • View scheduled actions by day
  • Modify scheduled times directly from the list
  • Toggle hibernate states
  • Delete schedule entries using the trash icon

Device Power Status Dashboard Tile

A new Device Power Status tile has been added to the dashboard to provide at-a-glance visibility into the power state of devices.

The tile helps operators quickly determine whether devices are operating as expected and identify conditions that may require troubleshooting.

Supported Status Indicators

Status

Description

All On

All managed outputs are powered on.

Partial On

Some managed outputs are powered on while others are off.

All Off

All managed outputs are powered off.

In Progress

A power state transition is currently occurring.

Unconfigured

No power managers are configured for the device.

Error

The platform detected an issue determining the power state.

Unknown State

Power status could not be reliably determined.

Troubleshooting Visibility

The tile provides immediate awareness of:

  • Configuration gaps
  • Communication issues
  • Power state synchronization problems
  • Devices currently transitioning between states

This allows administrators to identify and investigate power-related issues more efficiently.
