Undesired IPAWS alert playing on sign, alert still set to active

Potential Symptoms

  • IPAWS alert playing on sign
  • Disabled IPAWS alerts, but alert remains active

Environment

  • Product: Venus Basic, Venus Select, Venus Professional, Venus Enterprise
  • Components: IPAWS Messages
  • Control System: Venus Cloud-Based, Venus Local

Cause

  • IPAWS alert still set to active in scheduling

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the Scheduling app in VCS
  2. From the left hand menu, click on Emergency Alerts. There should be a notification bubble with the number of active alerts.
  3. Select the alert category
  4. Place a check on any undesired alerts in the pane on the right-hand side of the window
  5. Choose Set Inactive
  6. Ensure the inactive icon appears next to the alert
