This article explains how FrameWrx Classroom Plan Account Admins can create, manage, and delete student users through Daktronics Online. It also covers how to manage student passwords, preserve student projects before deleting an account, configure student settings, view student activity, and log in as a student for troubleshooting and support.

FrameWrx Student User Management 

Managing Student Accounts Through Daktronics Online

  • As part of our continued improvements to FrameWrx, student user management has moved to Daktronics Online.
  • This update provides a single place to manage all FrameWrx users, simplifies the login experience, and reduces the need to switch between multiple systems.

What's Changed?

Beginning with this release:

  • All FrameWrx users (Account Admins and Student Users) sign in using the same login experience. 
  • Student user accounts are now created and managed in Daktronics Online, alongside your other FrameWrx users. 
  • The Student Users page in FrameWrx has been replaced with Student User Activity, allowing teachers to monitor activity and provide student support. 
Where Do I Manage Student Users?

All user management now takes place in Daktronics OnlineDaktronics Online serves as your organization's central hub for managing users, application access, and other account-related settings across Daktronics applications.

  • From Daktronics Online, Account Admins can: 
    • Add new student users 
    • Edit existing student users 
    • Delete student users 
    • Set a student's password during account creation 
    • Reset a student's password at any time
  • Any changes made in Daktronics Online automatically synchronize with your FrameWrx account.
  • Note: Student user accounts can no longer be created or edited directly within FrameWrx.  

Accessing User Management
  1. Log in to FrameWrx: FrameWrx: How do I log in to my account?
  2. Select Admin from the top navigation. 
  3. Select Account Access from the left navigation. 
  4. Click Manage Users in My Daktronics. 
  5. From the My Subscriptions tab, select your active FrameWrx subscription. 
  6. Manage your Account Admins, IT Admins, and Student Users from Daktronics Online. 
Create A New Student User
  1. In Daktronics Online, navigate to your FrameWrx Subscription Details page.
  2. On the Subscription Details page, locate the My Student Users section. 
  1. Select Add Student Access > Add New Student 

  1. Enter the student's:

    1. First Name 
    2. Last Name 
    3. Email Address
  2. Create a password for the student by either: 
    1. Selecting Regenerate to generate a secure password, or 
    2. Entering your own custom password. 

⚠️ Important: Copy and save the password before creating the user's account. For security reasons, the password cannot be viewed again after the student account has been created. 

  1.  Select "Create Student + Grant Access".
  2. The student can sign in using the password you provided.
    • A Welcome Email will also be sent (if your school's email system allows external emails), giving the student the option to create a new password. 

💡 Note: If your school blocks external emails, simply provide the password you created directly to the student.  

 

Student Password Management

Account Admins can manage student passwords directly in Daktronics OnlineHere you can reset a student's password at any time.

  1. In Daktronics Online, navigate to your FrameWrx Subscription Details page.
  2. On the Subscription Details page, locate the My Student Users section.
  3. Find the Student User you need to manage, and select Reset Password from the available actions.  

 

  1.  Enter a new password for the user and select Reset Password to complete the process. 

⚠️ Important: Copy and save the new password before completing the password reset. For security reasons, the password cannot be viewed again after the student user's password has been reset. 

    • This allows teachers to assist students whose school email accounts may not receive external password reset emails. 
Deleting Student Users
  • When a FrameWrx student user is deleted through Daktronics Online, their FrameWrx data is also removed. 
⚠️ Important
  • Projects created by the student user are not automatically transferred to another account.
  • Student projects remain available for 30 days after the account is deleted. After 30 days, they are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
  • If you want to preserve a student's work, complete the following steps before deleting the student. 

Preserve Student Projects

  1. Do not delete the student yet. 
  2. Return to FrameWrx. 
  3. Navigate to Admin → Student User Activity. 
  4. Select the student. 
  5. Click Log in as User. 
  6. Submit the student's projects to your Account Admin account for approval. 
  7. Return to your own Account Admin account. 
  8. Approve the submitted projects. 
  9. Export the approved projects for long-term storage. 
  10. Return to Daktronics Online to delete the student account. 

⚠️ Important: Only projects that have been submitted, approved, and exported will be preserved. 

Delete Student User

  1. In Daktronics Online, navigate to your FrameWrx Subscription Details page.
  2. On the Subscription Details page, locate the My Student Users section. 
  3. Find the Student User you need to manage, and select Remove from the available actions.  
  4. Use the checkbox to confirm that you understand the Student User's projects will be deleted unless you preserved them first. 
  5. Select Delete Student User 

Managing Student Setting in FrameWrx

While student user accounts are managed in Daktronics Online, two FrameWrx-specific settings remain available inside FrameWrx.

  1. Navigate to: Admin → Student User Activity
  2. Select a student to configure:
    • Disable Social Media Export 
    • Hide System Templates
  3. These settings only affect the student's FrameWrx experience and can be updated at any time.  
Viewing Student Activity

The Student User Activity page allows teachers to monitor student accounts and provide classroom support. 

From this page you can:

  • View student account information 
  • View student user's last activity date 
  • View student user's total number of created projects  
  • Configure FrameWrx-specific settings 
  • Securely log in as any student for troubleshooting and support 

💡 Note: Student account information displayed on this page is read-only and synchronized from Daktronics Online. 

Logging in as a Student

Teachers can securely access a student's FrameWrx account without knowing the student's password. 

To virtually log in:

  1. Navigate to Admin → Student User Activity. 
  2. Hover your mouse over the student user's name in the table. 
  3. Click the Key Icon to Log in as User. 

This feature is helpful for:

  • Troubleshooting student issues 
  • Assisting students during class 
  • Reviewing student work 
  • Verifying permissions and access 

 

Student Login Issues

Existing student users should continue using their current passwords after the migration. 

If a student cannot log in:

  1. Verify they are using the correct email address. 
  2. Have the Account Admin reset the student's password in Daktronics Online. 
  3. Try signing in again.

Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Why was student management moved?

Managing all users from a single location provides a simpler experience for teachers and reduces confusion about where different user types are managed.  
 

  1. Can I still create student users inside FrameWrx?

No. Student users are now created and managed exclusively through Daktronics Online. 

 

  1. Can I still log in as a student?

Yes. The Log in as User feature remains available from the Student User Activity page. 

 

  1.  What can I still edit inside FrameWrx? 

You can continue to manage the following FrameWrx-specific settings for each student:

    • Hide System Templates 
    • Disable Social Media Export

All other account information is managed in Daktronics Online.  

 

  1. What happens if I delete a student user?
  • The student user's account is deleted immediately.
  • Their projects remain available for 30 days before being permanently removed.
  • If you need to keep the student's projects, follow the Preserve Student Projects steps before deleting the account.

  

  1. Do students need to reset their passwords after this migration?

No. Existing student passwords will continue to work after the migration. If a student is unable to sign in, an Account Admin can reset their password from Daktronics Online. 

 

  1. How is student information used?  

Student account information is used only to provide secure access to FrameWrx and support account management. 

Daktronics does not: 

  • Contact students for marketing purposes
  • Send promotional emails to students 
  • Sell or share student information for advertising 

Student information is used only to authenticate users, secure accounts, and provide the functionality required to operate the FrameWrx platform.
