Cause
The INVALID indicator means a signal is present but cannot be processed. Possible causes include:
• HDCP-protected content
• Unsupported resolution (non-broadcast format)
• Unsupported refresh rate
Resolution
1. Verify source device resolution:
○ Confirm output is a supported format (e.g., 720p, 1080p)
○ Adjust resolution if necessary
2. Verify refresh rate:
○ Ensure signal matches standard broadcast rates
3. Determine content type:
○ Ask if content includes streaming or protected media
4. If protected content is being used:
○ Confirm whether BrightEye licensing has been completed
○ If not, direct customer to licensing process
5. Verify cabling and signal path:
○ Confirm HDMI input is connected before powering device
○ Confirm SDI output connections are secure
For Temporary Operation
• Switch to non-protected content (e.g., PowerPoint)
