  • Scoreboards produced as of November 2025 or newer are supported.

Visual Confirmation of Support:

  • If the scoreboard has a clock section, on start-up (with no controller connected/powered) the digits will display its current Address (“AYYY”) and firmware version (“rXX”).
  • Only scoreboards with version 3.0 (“r30”) or greater support the MX-1 firmware update feature.
Team Name Message Center/Configurable Electronic Caption – What is Supported?
  • Firmware update support for the smart modules used in TNMC and Electronic Captions is limited to the newer 5000 series modules used in outdoor scoreboards produced after April 2026.  Visually, these electronic captions have higher resolution than prior style of display.   See the image below for a representation of the new vs the old-style displays.
  • Note: TNMC update files are transferred through the scoreboard driver.  Scoreboard driver firmware vers 3.2 and newer supports this transfer process.  If the scoreboard driver firmware version is unknown or older than version 3.2 the scoreboard driver firmware must be updated before attempting updates for your TNMC electronics captions.
