Live Video Feed Flickering When Using HDMI

Potential Symptoms

Component: Black Magic HDMI to SDI converter
Control System: DMP-8000, Display Studio

Cause

  • Unknown

Resolution

  1. Prior to preforming steps below, first ensure ALL cabling is correct and matches site drawings. We must first rule out bad cables/devices before continuing.
  2. Preform a hard reboot on the DMP as outlined below:
  3. Press and hold power switch on DMP to turn it off
  4. Remove power cord going into DMP
  5. Press and hold down the power button for at least 30 seconds
    1. This forces any residual electricity stored in the capacitors to drain
  6. Reconnect the power cord
  7. Allow the DMP to fully boot up
  8. Attempt to play content as normal
  9. Update Black Magic Firmware to latest (15.3.1 as of 3/4/26)
