Show Control: How do I customize/automate logos on my video scoreboard?

How to customize your scoring files to show logos based on the team names entered into your AllSport  

RTD scoring/timing files are located under the \Content\RTD\<sport name> and can be customized to show a logo or static file in place of your AllSport data, like automatically pulling your Guest Team logo based on the Guest Team name entered in the AllSport and much more!

Environment

  • Product: Content Studio; Allsport Pro; Allsport 5000 

  • Component: Data elements, Scoreboard RTDs, MediaRTD 

  • Control System: Show Control Systems

Steps

Create a Backup First

Before making any changes, back up both your Media RTD files and .vmpf files. This ensures you can restore your setup if needed. 

  1. Navigate to the content folder (Content:D8video-P) under network locations 

  1. Copy the MediaRTD folder 

  1. Paste it to your desktop 

  1. Rename the folder “Backup MediaRTD” 

This can now be used to replace the MediaRTD to reset to the default structure if ever needed

Maintain Folder Hierarchy

Do not alter the default MediaRTD folder structure unless necessary. The system relies on this hierarchy to locate and display elements correctly.

Adding the Logos

  1. Name the Logo File Correctly 

    1. The logo image file name must exactly match the “GUEST TEAM NAME” entered in All Sport Pro or All Sport 5000.

    2. Example: If the guest team name is “Tigers”, the logo file must be named Tigers.png. 

  1. Place the Logo in the Correct Folder 

    1. Save the logo file in the following folder: \Content\MediaRTD\..Logos\Guest\

    2. Do not place logos in the “Default Guest” subfolder. That folder is reserved for Daktronics-provided default logos only. 

  1. Use the Correct File Format 

    1. Only .PNG files with transparent backgrounds are supported.

    2. This ensures clean display over various scoreboard backgrounds. 

  1. Automatic Display 

    1. If the file name and “GUEST TEAM NAME” match exactly, the logo will automatically appear during scoreboard operation. 

  1. No Logo Available? 

    1. If no custom logo is available, leave the “Guest Team Logo” field in All Sport Pro or All Sport 5000 set to “Guest”.

    2. The system will automatically display the default guest logo from:\\192.168.0.220\Content\MediaRTD\..Logos\Guest\Default\Guest\<Sport Name>
