Display Blank; No DMP-8000 Service Error, VNC Black Screen

Potential Symptoms

  • No DMP-8000 Service Error
  • Display Blank
  • No issues with VIP
  • Able to load DMP-8000 web UI but not able to get status
  • VNC player does not show content
  • The player window on VNC does not come back when closed
  • VNC blank
  • VNC black screen

Cause

  • DMP-8000 lock up

Resolution

  1. Press and hold power switch on DMP to turn it off
  2. Remove power cord going into DMP
  3. Press and hold down the power button for at least 30 seconds
    1. This forces any residual electricity stored in the capacitors to drain
  4. Reconnect the power cord
  5. Allow the DMP to fully boot up
  6. Attempt to play content as normal
