Environment

  • Product: FL-5000
  • Components: FL5 Controller, Android Tablet
  • Control System: Fuelink 5

Steps

Follow these steps to connect the Android tablet provided by Daktronics (part # A-5698630) to the Fuelink 5 controller:

  1. Plug the tablet into an available USB port on the Fuelink 5 controller, and then power on the tablet.
  2. Go through the startup process. Do not create or register with any accounts, and do not set up any screen lock codes or passwords.
  3. Connect to the “Fuelink5” Wi-Fi access point.
    1. Select the Autoconnect option for the Fuelink5 network.
Note: If this is not presented as an option when connected, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Internet. Select the gear icon next to the Fuelink5 network, and slide the Autoconnect switch to ON.
    2. A message will state “Can’t provide internet”. Select Stay connected and Don’t ask again.

The following tablet configuration is optional but recommended:

  1. Remove all apps from the home screen and task bar (tap and hold, then drag to remove).
  2. Remove the “app drawer” button and disable entertainment space.
    1. Tap and hold on an empty area of the home screen, then select Home Settings.
    2. Disable the All applications list entry in the taskbar.
    3. Disable Swipe to access Entertainment Space.
  3. Make fuelink5.local the homepage and add to home screen.
    1. Open the Chrome browser, and tap the 3-dot menu.
    2. Go to Settings > Homepage. Turn the homepage On, and set it to http://fuelink5.local (this will automatically redirect to the https site).
    3. Go back and tap the 3-dot menu again.
    4. Tap Add to Home screen.
  4. Go to Settings > Display and enable the Dark theme
  5. Go to Settings > Display and add the following text on the lock screen: “Fuelink 5”
  6. Go to Settings > Sound and set all sound volume levels to zero.
  7. Attach the anti-theft mount to the wall and lock the tablet into it (refer to instructions with the kit).
