No Network Connectivity Lights on Some Machines on a Cisco RV345 Router

Potential Symptoms

  • No network connectivity activity lights on network port.
  • Only some ports on router may be showing connection lights.
  • Machines offline; not responding to pings or network commands.
  • Moving ethernet cables to other ports may restore network connections.
  • Note:  Seen on firmware v1.0.00.33

Cause

  • Cisco firmware issue.

Resolution

Warning:  Router may take 10-15 minutes for update and reboot to fully complete and resume operation.

  • Update to latest.

For Temporary Operation

  1. Move affected ethernet cables to other available ports and observe network connectivity lights come on.
  2. Verify with network diagnostics (ping, webUX, connectivity lights in Display Studio) that machines are online and operational.
