Camino: What is the best practice for project organization file organization?

Steps

  • On any DMP-8000 that plays Camino content, the following file structure is recommended:
  • C:\ProgramData\Daktronics\Vnet4\Content\       
  • This Content folder is typically mapped as the "D" drive on the DMP-8000 computer and may have a different drive letter or shortcut when accessing it from another computer on the network (a Show Control, VENUS-P, or EDIT computer)
    • From the Content folder:
    • \Camino\
      • Assets
        • Logos
        • Swatches
          • Primary
          • Secondary
          • Tertiary
      • Clips
      • Fonts
      • Graphics
      • MeshCache
      • References
      • Textures_Materials
      • Template Files (.XML)
      • All Schema Files Used in the project(s) (.XSD)

Terminology 

Assets: The directory containing all dynamically updated elements of the Camino template(s).

Logos: The directory containing all logos that are linked dynamically to data within the Camino template(s). This directory may contain sub-directories with different logo types used in the templates(s).

Swatches: The directory containing all color swatches/samples that are linked dynamically to data within the Camino template(s). This directory may contain sub-directories with different swatches used in the template(s).

Clips: The directory containing all clips/videos/pre-rendered animations used in the Camino template(s). These items MUST be rendered in .MOV format with HAP and pixel dimensions MUST be divisible by 4 on both height and width. See How to format video files for use in Camino projects. This directory may contain sub-directories with different logo types used in the templates(s).

Fonts: The directory containing all fonts used in the Camino template(s). All fonts must be installed on the DMP-8000 player to render when played. See: Content Studio: How do I install additional fonts? 

Graphics: The directory containing all pre-rendered still images used in the Camino template(s). Graphics are typically .PNG format. This directory may contain sub-directories with different logo types used in the templates(s).
