Content Studio content creation for setups with both local data sport sources and cloud data sport sources
Topic
This article explains how to create content for systems supporting both cloud and local data sources. An example of this would be a venue using Data Studio Hockey (cloud data) and Data Studio Basketball (local data).
Environment
- Product: Content Studio
- Component: Data Studio Hockey, Data Studio Basketball
- Control System: Venus Control System / Show Control System
Steps
Use the arrows to open and collapse the following sections.
Creating and editing locally sourced data (example: Data Studio Basketball)
For local environments, start Content Studio via the Start menu. It will then connect to the local Data Studio sources.
The Venus Server configuration in Content Studio will need to be the local server:

Creating and editing content with a cloud sourced data feed. (example: Data Studio Hockey)
To access Content Studio in cloud environments, initiate it through Display Studio by clicking the pencil icon. It will utilize the same environment to which Display Studio is connected.

To create this cloud sourced hockey content, the top 3 data rows were added by creating the content by launching Content Studio from Display Studio:
Creating content that comes from both sources. (Example both games are happening simultaneously.)
It's unlikely that a hockey game and a basketball game would occur simultaneously; however, it is possible to to access both cloud and local data within the content without altering Display Studio settings (which were configured for cloud). This approach may be adjusted once the selected statistics and requested statistics workflows are aligned.
- Open Content Studio from the Display Studio pencil icon.
- Create a presentation that can display cloud sourced hockey content.
- Save the presentation and then reopen from the Start menu.
- Edit the presentation to also include locally sourced basketball content.
For cloud data, run Content Studio from the pencil in Display Studio. In this instance, the period can be added to the hockey data.
To add/modify local data, launch Content Studio from the start menu. In this case, the period and state can be added to the basketball data.
