Steps

Can you import, export a translation table? 

YES. Here's how:

  • Option 1: Use a contract backup that includes the TT.
    • Note: This might not cover every display series, and a backup might not always be available. Contact Daktronics tech support to confirm.
  • Option 2: Save a VIP backup with the TT.
    • This method is also useful for removing a TT by importing a VIP backup without the TT file.
Can you import, export Changeable messages?

NO. There isn't a way to backup Changeable messages through the DMP or VIP.

Can you import, export Permanent messages?

YES. Permanent messages can be shared between controllers.

  • DMP with Permanent messages and script can be saved to backup.zip and restored to a new controller this will load the scripts and the permanent messages.

What happens when you overwrite backup?

On a DMP:  Overwriting does not change the identification or the IP address. 

On a VIP:  Overwriting changes both the IP address and the VIP identification.
