Venus 1500 will not launch: Nucleus Server Loading, Services running.

Potential Symptoms

  • Venus 1500 software will not launch.
  • Control PC may be on a domain.
  • SQL Server (NUCLEUS) service is already set to Log On as Local System account.
  • Event Viewer System tab shows some Service Control Manager errors pertaining to MSSQL$NUCLEUS
    • Event ID 7000
      • The SQL Server (NUCLEUS) service failed to start due to the following error:
      • The service did not start due to a logon failure.

    • Event ID 7041
      • The MSSQL$NUCLEUS service was unable to log on as NT Service\MSSQL$NUCLEUS with the currently configured password due to the following error:
      • Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.
      • Service: MSSQL$NUCLEUS
      • Domain and account: NT Service\MSSQL$NUCLEUS
      • "This service account does not have the required user right "Log on as a service."

  • Venus 1500 launch log
    • Large number of errors: The SQL Server (NUCLEUS) service is not running.

    • Error during set of users and roles.
    • The underlying connection was closed. An unexpected error occurred on a send.

  • Potential error during the installation of SQL 2014 may have assigned access incorrectly to users on the computer.
