Best Practices to Rack Installation location for Standard Video

This KB provides guidance to best practices regarding the location for installation of Standard Video rack solutions.  

Environment

  • Product: DVX, DVN, LVX, LVN
  • Control System:  Standard Video 

Steps

Depending on the type of rack you have you can install or mount the racks in a variety of ways.  It is recommended for all racks to follow the following guidelines.
  • Racks should be installed in a Cool and dry location safe from external elements.
  • Location should have appropriate ventilation, or cooling to allow for heat to dissipate.
  • Racks should not be installed in any location that they would be exposed to high humidity
Below are the links to the variety of Rack options that are provided in Standard Video solutions and their associated manuals that provide specs for mounting if needed.  
  • 14 RU Floor Rack
    • Reference provided manual for installation
    • It is recommended that these racks remain on flooring
  • 12RU Rack
    • Reference provided manual for installation
    • 12RU Racks may be placed on the floor or wall mounted following the guidelines in the manual.
  • 8RU Rack
    • Reference provided manual for installation
    • 8RU Racks may be placed on any surface that follows the above criteria and can hold the weight of the devices.  Ensure that there is appropriate clearance for airflow and heat dissipation, and reference the manual for wall mounting.
