VCS Cannot schedule content to zones only to display; Legacy layout

Potential Symptoms

  • Can only schedule to display.
  • No zones appear for any display.
  • Layout names end in "(legacy)" or "(old)".
  • Recent VCS update

Environment

  • Product: DMP
  • Component: Scheduling, layouts
  • Control System: Venus Control Suite

Cause

  • There was an update that legacy'd all old playlists and they now have limited functionality.

Resolution

  1. Resave the legacy layout to allow for it to update to the new layout format.
    1. Open Layout Editor
    2. Select the legacy layout
    3. Click Save
    4. Address any naming errors if they exist
    5. After save is successful open a playlist and go to add displays and now a drop down should appear with all the zones
