Unable to send RTD using All Sport 5000 to Lantronix; Incorrect cable used

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to send RTD using All Sport 5000 to Lantronix box.
  • Data Monitor shows nothing on the expected port.
  • Able to ping and confirm Lantronix is configured correctly using Device Installer but there is no RTD or any data coming from the console.

  • Product: DVX, DVN, DVNMC, Galaxy, SS, SSL, Standard Video Racks
  • Component: All Sport 5000, OmniSport 2000, Lantronix Box, RTD Standard Video Kit
  • Control System: Show Control

Cause

  • A Null modem cable must be used to connect a console directly to the Lantronix box. Otherwise, the serial Lantronix cable will need to be used with a J-box.

Resolution

  1. Replace the cable between the Console and Lantronix box with a provided 10 Ft null modem cable.
    • If connecting the console to J-Box, use the provided 25 Ft Lantronix serial cable.
