SLD: Display goes into sleep mode, using an Amazon Firestick

Potential Symptoms

Display going to sleep after a period of inactivity.

Environment

  • Product: NovaStar Meetus
  • Components: SLD, MEE200
  • Control System: Conference Display System

Cause

  • Amazon says the Fire TV device goes into Low Power Mode when the device goes to sleep due to inactivity.
  • HDMI source going to sleep but not necessarily disconnecting.
  • When this happens the SLD will blank, but it does not shut off.

Resolution

The customer can look for ways to disable the Low Power Mode.

Amazon does not provide an official process to disable, but the customer can look into finding a method to disable this on their own.

For Temporary Operation

Press a button on the Firestick, it turns back on, and its content shows right back up on the SLD.
