Steps

When extending Novastar outputs via Transition Network Fiber converters, the Link Pass-thru (LPT) feature needs to be disabled on each C3110 converter card located within the ION media converter rack frames.  By default, the LPT feature is enabled on each fiber card. 

When enabled, the LPT feature may cause the C3110 to timeout when the display panels are powered off.  When this timeout occurs, the only way to re-initialize the fiber link is to cycle the RJ45 connection to the sender box output.  This can be done by physically cycling the RJ45 connection on the rear of the sender box, rebooting the sender box, or rebooting the fiber converter frame.

To Disable the LPT feature, slide each card out of the rack frame one-by-one and flip the dip-switch #4 to the down position. 

See photo below.  The fiber cards are hot-swappable, so the converter frame does not need to be powered down to make this change. 
👉If there is no fiber redundancy the display sections will go blank when the cards are pulled out of the frame.
