NHL Shot on goal (SOG) not on TV Feed

Potential Symptoms

Shot on Goal is not getting to the TV Feed or Allsport CG.
SOG not getting to TV Feed but have it in the NHL HITS Scoreboard Feed

Environment

  • Product: DMP-8000, DSTI, TV FEED

  • Control System: Show Control

Cause

Issues encountered at other NHL arenas are:
  1. Bidirectional communication between the All Sport 5000 and the DSTI application is not available
  2. DSI file not configured properly
  3. All Sport 5000 needs to have firmware updated
Issue 1- requires 2 pair of wires to be terminated between the j-box located in penalty box and the rack mounted signal converter in the control rack.
Issue 2- requires confirmation of the two (2) screenshots shown below.
Issue 3- requires a minimum version number of 2.2.6 which was released in October of 2007.
 

Resolution

Determine the sites may be experiencing the issue.  Facility staff can determine and would not require a representative from Daktronics to be sent to site.

To do: Press the <SHOTS ON GOAL +1> key on the All Sport console in the penalty box while everything is setup and running which includes:

  1. NHL Interface and DSTI running in the control rack.

  2. Remote SOG console in the NHL officials booth turned off.

  3. GIP console in the penalty box running a code number for hockey.

This scenario assumes an All Sport 5100 is used for the GIP console and the SOG console to be fully functional.

If the LCD shows a message that “STATS ARE RECEIVED” or similar, the correct wiring is in place and the issue should not be present at the facility.


If the message is not displayed and the SOG increment see below:

For the TV Feed to include SOG from NHL H.I.T.S (DSTI or All Sport CG), the following signal path must be established:

  1. NHL H.I.T.S -> NHL Interface installed on DSTI computer

  2. DSTI -> All Sport 5100 in penalty box

  3. All Sport 5100 -> DSTI

A backup method is to power ON the All Sport 5100 in the Officials Room and manually enter the SOG information.
 
This method requires 3 wires to be connected between the consoles as shown in attached drawing and does override the SOG information received from DSTI so the console in Officials Room should remain OFF until needed.

 
Second line will send SOG data to All Sport           The Length needs to be set to 5000
