unable to ping Ethernet Bridge Radio, set to the wrong IP address

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to ping the radio, even though both radios show up in EBR Diagnostics.
    • Issue may be with the client or the server.
  • Might be having a communication issue.

Environment

  • Product: GS6, Galaxy
  • Component: Ethernet Bridge Radios (EBR)
  • Control System: Venus Control Suite (VCS) hosted, Venus 1500

Cause

  • The radio was configured to the wrong IP address.
    • Both Radios may be set to the same IP address, when they should be different.

Resolution

  • Log into the web config page for a radio and change the IP address to the correct address, or to something different (momentarily) to be able to distinguish the two apart. 
    • The server radio IP address needs to be set to "192.168.17.17".
    • The Client radio IP address needs to be set to "192.168.17.18".
    • Call a Daktronics technician for assistance with this process.
