FLR3-100 communication intermittent; Antenna cable missing rubber gasket

Potential Symptoms

  • Only able to communicate briefly to change prices and then display stops responding.
  • Communication kit was just replaced including the antenna cable.
  • When sign cabinet door is closed and touched they are being shocked, no issue with door open.
  • Compared to previous antenna cable, the new one has no rubber gasket on it.

Cause

  • Antenna cable missing the required rubber gasket to prevent shorting to the display.

Resolution

  • Install antenna cable that has rubber gasket present so it is not shorting out to the display cabinet.
    • Obtain new cable or utilize old one if in working condition.
