Content Studio: Text not showing in text box,, Graphics card driver issue.

Potential Symptoms

  • When typing text into the yellow layout it types but does not show.
  • You can see the text in the Layout storyboard preview below.
  • Text color will not change on text in text box when highlighted or when text box is selected.

Environment

  • Product Family: Message Displays
  • Product: GS6
  • Component: Content Studio (2.14.1.4)
  • Control System: Venus Control Suite (VCS)

Cause

  • The Video Card or Video Driver either does not support Hardware Acceleration or is experiencing issues regarding Hardware Acceleration. 

Resolution

  1. Update the video driver. See Intel Driver update utility.
  2. Repair, replace, or install a Video Card that supports Hardware Acceleration and this will resolve both the Text not appearing in the creation window as needed.

For Temporary Operation

  • Adjust all text within the box to a size larger forcing it to go to multiple rows and the text may start to appear as needed. You can then adjust it back to the desired size and it will show correctly.
