Sparkling Effect From DisplayPort (DP) Input on DI-6000 or VP-6000

Potential Symptoms

  • Sparkling effect from DisplayPort (DP) input on DI-6000 or VP-6000
  • Christmas light effect showing on the display
  • Red, green, or blue LEDs stuck on throughout a section or multiple sections of the display
  • Content may freeze intermittently too
  • May happen across the entire display or within P2K card(s) boundaries
  • DisplayPort cable in use does not have latch (lock tab, anchor)
  • May clear temporarily after reboot of the DI-6000 or VP-6000
  • Example of visual issue. Card 1, left of the P2K Card boundary is showing the issue where Card 2 right of the P2K Card boundary is showing no issues

Cause

  • DisplayPort cable has slipped a little under the weight of its cable
  • DisplayPort cable is not getting a full seat in the port of the DI-6000 or VP-6000

Resolution

  • Use a DisplayPort cable with latch
  • and/or put strain relief on the cable. Also, put a slight bend in the cable to put slight pressure on the DisplayPort cable into the 6000
