Team Name Message Center (TNMC): display not fully displaying team name, use Alternate Narrow font

Potential Symptoms

  • Not getting team name to fully display on TNMC display
  • Team name (home or guest) is getting partially cut off
  • Last few letters may not be displaying

Environment

Cause

  • The size the of the TNMC is limiting the amount of characters that are able to be displayed on the TNMC

Resolution

  1. Verify the TNMC configuration is set up correctly.
    1. Height:  7 or 8 rows
    2. Width:  16, 32, 48, or 64 columns
  2. Select Single Stroke to maximize the amount of characters that can be entered.
  3. Type in each team name using the Alternate Narrow font.
    1. To access Alternate Narrow fonts, press the <SHIFT> key before pressing a letter key.  A lower case letter is shown on the LCD to represent the Alternate Narrow characters. 
    2. The character width of Alternate Narrow characters vary by character.  Reference Team Name Entry (page 19) in the All Sport 5000 Series Control Console Operation Manual, ED-11976 for specific character width information.

    • The top image is using a standard single stroke font. 
    • The bottom image is using the Alternate Narrow font.
