    • or shows a partial Player window.
  • VIP shows it is receiving DVI signal at expected resolution.

Environment

  • Product: GS6, GT6, GC6, DB-6400
  • Components: DMP-8050
  • Control System: Venus Control Suite (VCS)

Cause

  • Windows desktop on the DMP is set to duplicate monitors rather than extend.

Resolution

  1. Connect to DMP with VNC.
    • You will likely be presented with a blank screen as the player window will be running full screen, double click the blank area to resize the window.
  2. Close the DMP-8000 watchdog.
  3. Close the DMP-8000 player.
  4. Right click the desktop area and select Screen resolution from the drop down menu.
  5. In the window that opens click the drop down next to "Multiple displays:" and select Extend these displays then click Apply.
  6. Allow the screen to refresh and click the Keep Changes on the confirmation window before the revert countdown expires.
  7. Restart the DMP-8000 software by clicking the dmp_8000_x64_startup.bat shortcut in the Startup folder on the Start menu.
    • If you do not see it in the start menu, open Run: prompt and search "shell:common startup".
    • You should see it there, and you can double click it from there.
    • If that location is empty, check "shell:startup".
  8. Log into the DMP web interface and configure the output device to use the extended desktop (1).
    • This resolution should typically be 1440x900 for the GS6 displays. (what the VIP sees the input signal as)
