Fusion Server Not Running, Service Disabled By AVG Tune Up

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to open Venus 1500 V4. See this error: Fusion Server not running. Please try restarting this machine or running as Administrator
  • The Fusion service has not started.
  • The options to Start and Stop it are grayed out.
  • Rebooting the computer or running it as Administrator will not get it to start.

Cause

  • AVG Tune Up is disabling the Fusion Service.
    • Excluding the Daktronics Program and Data folders does not resolve issue.

Resolution

  • Uninstall AVG Tune Up

For Temporary Operation

  • Access Services.msc, select Daktronics Fusion service, right click it, select Properties, and set service startup type to automatic. If the service does not start, right click it and start it.
  • Launch V1500V4.
  • If AVG Tune Up is not uninstalled, this process will be needed anytime control computer is restarted.
