How do I replace a Single Board Computer (SBC) in a LS-1000 display?

Steps

Accessing the Internal Components

  1. Disconnect power to the display.
  2. Release the door by turning the captive latches on the bottom of the door using the key provided by Daktronics.
  3. Carefully raise the door. Mechanical stays installed at each end support the door when in the open position.  Release the LCD screen by turning the fasteners that lock the screen.
  4. Carefully raise the LCD screen. Mechanical stays installed at each end support the door when in the open position.  Note: Do not lean on or place extra weight on the open door or module plate.                                                                                                                                                                                                              
  5. Remove all power and signal connections from the SBC. Label the cables as they are removed to ensure proper replacement.
  6. Remove the nuts holding the SBC in place using a nut driver.
  7. Move the new SBC into place and replace the nuts removed.
  8. Reconnect power and signal cables removed.

  9. Ensure the correct player application is loaded on the SBC (DVS Player, DVS Embedded Server, or VCS Player)
