DMP-8000 player content playback stuttering and high CPU usage

Potential Symptoms

  • Processor rebooted or DisplayPort connections reseated.
  • DMP-8000 player content playback stuttering.
  • DMP-8000 high CPU usage ~85% when VNET player is launched and idle.
  • DMP-8000 CPU usage drops down to ~5% when VNET player is closed.
  • EDID Emulation not configured.

Cause

  • Output Device/Resolution is unconfigured.  Should have been reconfigured after reboots completed and connections reestablished, however, did not.

Resolution

  • Access DMP-8000's WebUX.
  • Click Config (wrench icon).
  • Verify Outputs, Output, Device, and Resolution all have red exclamation points.
  • Attempt restarting DMP-8000 via WebUX and verify again if the above auto reconfigure or are still showing error.
  • If still showing error proceed with clicking each drop down and configuring appropriately.
  • Click Save.
  • Verify CPU usage has lowered considerably.
  • Verify content playback is smooth.
  • Set EDID Emulation.
