DMS: Creating a DS style campaign for Kiosk displays

Topic

How does one schedule a Digital Signage like campaign to Kiosk Displays in Adflow DMS.
This guide is helpful in understanding how to leverage a modified workflow to transform Kiosks into a non-interactive/Touchless display.

Environment

  • Product Family: Adflow Kiosk Displays or Media Players
  • Product: Player 10.x and higher
  • Components: N/A
  • Control System: Adflow DMS

Quick Note

Home Button content must be an image file and it must be flagged as an “Interactive” Spot by clicking the check box.  This flag will identify the spot as part of the "Kiosk Spots" folder

The DS or Attract spots need to be saved with the “Interactive” left unchecked - This will flag the spot as a "Digital Signage Spots" folder

Steps

Creating a KMap

Once logged into ADflow DMS
Start by KMaps menu option and being creating a new KMap that we will use to manage the Static spots

Name your KMap and pick the storage folder

For the home spot we suggest a generic image like a Logo or another branding image.
The home spot is a required feature of a KMap

Note: The Home spot will only be triggered if someone presses the touchscreen. After a few seconds of idle time (no touches, duration is set on the Spot itself) the screen will return to the attract loop.  Using a image with a 10 second duration is recommended.  Using a video is not recommended.

The Home spot content does need to be flagged as Interactive

Click the Pencil icon to open the spot selector popup

Select your desired Home spot from the content tree, click OK with the spot selected

With your Home Button now selected and showing in the “Home Spot”, click Save to move on to the RoadMap

Click the "Roadmap" tab at the top of the window

Select “Attract Loop Spots” from the drop down

*Attract spots are stored in the "Digital Signage Spots" folder
Click the “Add New” button to open the spot selector popup

Select the spots to add, you can make changes (add or remove spots) until you assign the KMap to an active Campaign

The spots in the attract loop will be displayed along with the spot preview

Click the “Save” button when you are happy with the loop

Next click the “Approve” button to finalize the your new KMap

Creating a Kiosk Campaign

Click the “Kiosk Campaigns” menu to open the Kiosk Campaign scheduler

Create a new campaign by providing the campaign with a unique name

Next click the “Edit” button in the “Time Frame Options” section next to the Campaign name

Select the Time Frame for the campaign and then click “OK

Next click the “Add KMap” button to open the KMap selector

Locate your newly created KMap from the tree and click “OK” when you have it selected

Next, we need to assign this Campaign to one or more Displays.
Select the Displays from the network tree

Click the “Save” button to complete the scheduling process
