Potential Symptoms

  • Module blank and 7-segment indicator on module is displaying C5 or 1
  •  The part number for an 8 pin signal cable that attaches to the mod

Environment

  • Product Family: Transportation
  • Product:  VF, VX, & VM displays
  • Component:  20mm or 66mm module
  • Control System:  VFC-3000, VFC

Cause

  • Faulty module signal connector

Resolution

  • Make sure to reset the modules and verify issue persists
  • Replace module signal connector.

  • Part # 0A-1600-1119
    Description HARN, SIGNAL, 1 DROP REPLACEMENT, 20mm harness, single plug replacement.

    • The replacement signal connector pigtail will have extra white addressing jumper wires installed.
    • Look at the signal connector above or below the one you're replacing.
    • You will match the new connector's white wires to appear like the one you are replacing.
      • Same number of wires, same location as the connector you are replacing - it should match

    • Removing the extra wires will ensure the new/replacement connector is addressed properly.
    • Use a wire snipper to cut the extra/unneeded wires.
    • Run a test pattern to visually verify the module lights up.
    • Blank the test pattern.
    • Run a pixel test to confirm the module is working correctly.
    • Blank the display before leaving site.
