How do I install a Gen V Radio Receiver, Gen VI Radio Receiver or a Base Station into an LED scoreboard?

  • Install a Gen V or VI Radio Receiver into an LED scoreboard.

  • Components: Gen V radio receiver, Gen VI radio receiver, wireless base station
  • Control System: 

Steps

  1. Power the scoreboard down.
  2. Open the scoreboard in the area where the driver is and where the radio receiver will be.
  3. Feed the antenna cable through the antenna hole in the scoreboard and put on the washer and tighten the nut.
  4. Drill a 9/32" hole if needed.
  5. Attach the antenna with a washer outside and inside the scoreboard.
  6. Plug the radio power and signal cable into the radio connector coming off of the driver (J45) or the J21 connection on the driver.
    • If no J45 or J21 on board, plug receiver cable into J2 on signal radio surge card.
  7. Attach the radio receiver onto the inside wall of the scoreboard.
  8. For a Gen 5 or Gen 6 receiver follow Scoreboard: How do I change wireless scoreboard radio receiver settings? to set the desired broadcast and channel.
  9. For a Base station follow RC-100/RC-200:How do I change radio settings on the base station?  to set the desired broadcast and channel.
  10. Power on the scoreboard and look for POST and Broadcast and Channel settings.
  11. Power on the All Sport console.
  12. Press clear when asked to resume game.
  13. Input the correct code. Follow All Sport: What code should I use for my scoreboard?.
  14. Input the correct Broadcast and Channel settings that were displayed on the scoreboard.
  15. Verify that everything is operating correctly.
