How to setup OmniSport 2000 Swimming RTD to push to a DMP-8000 controlled display serially through DCS.

How do you send Swimming RTD to a DMP-8000 or Galaxy controlled display when connecting the OmniSport 2000 RTD port serially to DCS?

Environment

  • OmniSport 2000
  • SCS w/ DCS
  • DMP-8000
  • M3 Controlled Galaxy
  • Hy-Tek Meet Manager for Swimming
  • OmniSport Pro Swimming

Steps

  1. Connect equipment as shown below:

  2. Setup DCS Ports: Omni 2000 RTD from RTD on Omni to usb serial.
  3. Output is 21000 or 3002 depending on controller

  5. Setup DCS Data View, so RTD Data on Port 1 is connecting to TX on Port 2:

  6. From the DMP-8000 computer, verify that the OS2-Swimming.dsrc file is configured correctly:

  7. Create a message in Content Studio using Swim Timer A.
    • May need to verify that Swim Timer A is using OS2-Swimming.did with Profile Editor.
    • Contact the Daktronics Help Desk if unsure how to use Profile Editor.
  8. Configure OmniSport Pro Swimming for pool configuration, and setup correct COM Port values for the connection to the OmniSport 2000 Expansion Port.
  9. Configure Hy-Tek MM timing console and close the COM Port to the OmniSport 2000 Results port. 
  10. Download events into the OmniSport 2000 (DAKT2) from Hy-Tek MM, and confirm that you can pull open the meets on Pro Swimming, and start a meet.
