Unable to install Data Studio Basketball, When services starting the Data Studio Basketball UX service errors out

Potential Symptoms

  • When installing the Data Basketball software it gets to a point where it is starting services. Get an error of "Error 1920. Service Daktronics Data Basketball UX (Daktronics.Data.Basketball.UX) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
  • Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System shows "The Daktronics Data Basketball UX service terminated with the following error: An exception occurred in the service when handling the control request."
  • MMC shows missing a localhost certificate in personal.

Cause

  • Missing or expired certificate for localhost.

Resolution

  • Repair IIS 10.0 Express software via Programs and Features. 
    Note: If certificate is expired it will have to be deleted from the MMC snap-in before repair of the IIS 10.0 Express software.
