Venus Accounts: Venus Control Suite Password Reset Email Not Received, Account Email Address Incorrect in VCS

Potential Symptoms

  • Venus Control Suite or VCS Password reset Email never arrives.
  • Email is not in spam folder.

Environment

Cause

  • The Email address in our records is incorrect, and thus does not match the correct address entered during the password reset.
    • The Email address stored by Daktronics in VCS may have a wrong suffix, like .com instead of .net or .org, or may be misspelled.
    • The reset function accepts any input formatted like an Email address, xxx@xxx.xxx but only resets a password and sends a confirmation Email if the Email address entered on the password reset screen matches an Email address for a VCS User account.

Resolution

  • Contact the VCS account Administrator, and have a new User account created with the correct Email address.
    • If there is no other VCS Administrator, contact Daktronics for assistance. Daktronics suggests having at least two VCS account Administrators.
