Data Studio Baseball: How do I Configure Outputs for Out-of-Town?
Topic
- How do I configure outputs for Data Studio Out-of-Town?
- How do you use Out-Of-Town with a fixed digit display?
Environment
- Product:
- Components: Data Studio Baseball
- Control System: Show Control System (SCS), Venus Control Suite (VCS)
Steps
Outputs determine what data gets sent to what type of display. Use one or more filters to output specific league/team data.
- Log into the interface. Follow Data Studio Baseball: How to login to Baseball? for more information
- Click Add Output and select an available output type:
- ERTD Scores (Expanded): This output type allows up to 8 game outputs with in-depth information and statistics. This also allows conditional sequences for each game depending on its status (not started, in progress, finished, etc.).
- ERTD Scores: This output type allows up to 18 game outputs but with fewer available statistics than the Expanded output. This output type does NOT allow conditional sequences.
- MDP Scores: This output type sends data to fixed-digit out-of-town scoreboards using the Multi-Drop Protocol (MDP) and allows up to 16 game outputs.
ERTD Scores (Expanded)
- Enter a descriptive Name for the output, such as the display/location where the data will appear, how many games are displayed at a time, or which filter or league is being utilized.
- Enter a UDP Port Number. The common port for out-of-town scores is 20000.
- Enter the Hold Time per Page in seconds. This determines how long each group or "page" of games will remain visible when the display is not large enough to show all games at once. The default is 10 seconds
- Check the Exclude games not started and/or Force Output to All Caps options as desired
- Click on the Filters tab
- Enter the Number of Games per filter
- Select a Paging Technique:
- One Filter Per Page: Displays game data from one filter on one page
- All Filters Simultaneously: Displays game data for every filter at once
Note: The total number of games to output decreases depending on the number of selected filters (Example: With 2 filters selected, the max games displayed would be 4; with 3 or 4 filters, the max is 2; and with 5 or more filters, the max is 1)
- Select the Content Control:
- None: Output the data without conditional sequences
- Select Frame: Used to play conditional sequences with Venus/ DMP-7000 players. Under Sign Numbers, select a Sign number that corresponds to each Game number
- Start Sequence: Used to play conditional sequences with V-Net/ DMP-8000 players. When this is selected, a Library Name must also be entered to specify the folder where the sequence files are stored. Under Sign Numbers, select a Sign number that corresponds to each Game number
Note: In Sports Wire 4000, the name of the library was the name of your output (ex: output 1 played a file in a library called "Output_1"). Keep this in mind if reusing existing OOT display content
- Under Selected Filters, click the checkbox next to the filter(s) to include in the output
- Click Confirm
