Unable to remotely connect to Galaxy display through CDMA modem, Wrong LAN settings.

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to remotely connect to Galaxy display using CDMA modem.
  • While unable to connect remotely, get Internet access on laptop plugged direct into CDMA modem.
  • CDMA web configuration page may show a different phone number than the modem actually has.  Number may start with several leading Zeros. EX: 0000000xxxx.
  • Laptop set to DHCP pulls a different IP range than what the LAN IP of the modem should be set to.  EX: Computer pulls 192.168.13.x instead of 172.16.192.x.

Cause

  • Modem is using the USBnet settings instead of the Ethernet settings.

Resolution

  1. Log into the modem's web configuration page.
  2. Navigate to the LAN tab.
  3. On the LAN page, select the USB setting tab on the left side.
  4. Under USB settings, Set USB to disabled.
  5. Store the settings and reboot the modem.
  6. Verify after modem reboot that the modem is using the correct LAN IP scheme.
