Axis M7014 webcam server loads blank page in Internet Explorer

Potential Symptoms

  • Connection is made to the server in IE but a blank page is all that loads.
  • Compatibility Mode may help the issue but not always.

  • Product: DB-40xx, DB-41xx
  • Component: Internet Explorer, Axis M7014, Panasonic Web Camera
  • Control System:

Cause

  •    Firmware compatibility issue.

Resolution

  • Update M7014 firmware
  • Axis Support FAQ (External Link) details which firmware versions are needed based on current version, but the latest firmware should work fine.
    • Only the latest firmware version is available on the axis website.

For Temporary Operation

  • In Internet Explorer change "Document Mode" to IE9 or IE10. †
    1. While on the webcam viewing page, press key [F12] to show the Dev Tools, or Right Click > Inspect Element.
      1. Depending on your IE version you may see the following:
        1. A new window should pop up titled "[Webpage] - F12 Developer Tools".
        2. On the right side of the toolbar along the top, you should see an icon of a computer monitor.
           It should have either "Edge" or a number next to it. See the picture below:

        3. Continue to step 2 below. 

      2. Or you will see Browser Mode and Document Mode.

        1. Continue to step 2 below.

    2. Use the drop down to change Document Mode to IE9 or IE10.
  • Try using a different browser (Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.) †
