M-series bridge controlled Galaxy display time is wrong; NTP settings disabled

Potential Symptoms

  • The time on the Galaxy display has drifted, or is off by several minutes.
  • The time on the Bridge is also incorrect (the same as the display), even though it has the correct time zone setting in VCS.
  • The playlists may not be playing (starting or stopping) at the correct scheduled times.

Environment

  • Product: Galaxy AF-3200, AF-3400, AF-3500, AF-3550
  • Component: M-series Hardware or Software Bridge
  • Control System: Venus Control Suite (VCS)

Cause

  • The NTP time setting is not enabled on the M-series PC. (The Galaxy controller syncs time with the bridge.)  1044591_not set_2018-05-09_11-38-24.png

Resolution

  • Turn ON the "set time automatically" feature on the bridge device.
    • Contact Daktronics Helpdesk for technical assistance.
