The following steps are how to setup new Macros and utilize more keys on the Novation LaunchPad. This can also be used to modify the existing macros. Macros are a way that you can have one "hot key" or button to push to do a string of commands. For example: the bottom left key is set up for putting Camera 1 in to Preview.

Please refer to: LaunchPad Mini Reference (https://www.daktronics.com/Web%20Documents/DD3552759.pdf) for how the LaunchPad Mini is configured when it first arrives on site.

A. Create a Folder- This button is used to create a folder to help organize your macros.

B. Add Macro Button- This button is used to create a new macro. When this button is pushed you will see a new line appear in the list of macros. The name will be highlighted in blue and this allows you to edit the Macro name so you know what that macro is doing

C. Shortcut- This is how you set the keyboard or LaunchPad Novation Mini key as your shortcut key. You select the box under the words shortcut and the box will say listening… This is your indication to select the key that you want.

  • Note: When selecting a button on the LaunchPad Novation Mini it will highlight in green. These colors can be changed and is mentioned further down.

D. Record- This button is recording the steps that you want the macro to do.
  • Note: You need to make sure that all the steps that you are looking to record are not done already. It will record each mouse click or change of source so when you are recording you want to make sure that none of your actions are already completed.

E. Stop - This button will stop the recording

F. Edit - This allows you to edit the commands and time of each action in the macro

  • Note: All times are done in milliseconds. The time it shows is how long it took you to do a certain action. Since you want the macro to happen instantly you need to change all numbers outside of the ones with 0s to be 1s. This will speed up the time it takes for this macro to execute.

Step 1: Start recording

Step 2: Double click on the flag in DDR to start it to play

Step 3: In the DDR 1 bin select loop

Step 4: Punch up DDR 1 in the program bus

Step 5: Stop Recording

Step 6: Edit the macro so that the times are 1ms.

Step 7: Make sure to set another thing in program, another item in DDR 1 and unloop DDR 1.

        • Note: Just do other commands on your TriCaster than what you recorded. This will allow you to make sure that all actions were recorded properly.

Step 8: Play out your macro to make sure that it does all the steps correctly.
