Message not displaying on VFC-3000 controlled sign with low module failure and good coms.

Potential Symptoms

  • Message does not display.
  • Controller reports low or insignificant pixel failure.
  • Sign has good communication.

Cause

  • The "Failed Pixel Threshold" is enabled or set to a very restrictive value.

Resolution

  • Disable the threshold by going to Main Menu>Configuration>System Configuration>Configure Options>Failed Pixel Threshold> Disable.
  • Or set the threshold to a more lenient value by Main Menu>Configuration>System Configuration>Configure Options>Failed Pixel Threshold>(enter value).

For Temporary Operation

  • Replacing the failed module will also cause the sign to return to operation, but the threshold should be set to a realistic number (i.e. a value where that number of failures would cause a message to be illegible).
