Unable to connect to the GS6 display with Venus 1500, use Venus Control Suite (VCS).

Potential Symptoms

  • Attempting to configure Venus 1500 during new install, first time fire-up (FTFU) to add my new GS6 display and it will not recognize it.
    • "Unable to connect to the display" or "connect failed" alert from Venus 1500 V3 or V4 software.
  • Unable to auto detect the display with Venus 1500 Display configuration.

Cause

  • Venus 1500 does not control the new GS6 displays.
    • GS6 displays use Venus Control Suite (venus.daktronics.com) cloud server to create content and playlists.
    • GS6 displays are not backwards compatible with Venus 1500 software.

Resolution

  1. Plug the sign into a network with access to the internet.
  2. Please used the web-based, Venus Control Suite software at "venus.daktronics.com".
