Venus 1500 v4.22 error when launching: "Verifying services loaded failed. Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Potential Symptoms

  • When launching Venus 1500 v4.22 receiving the following Startup error: "Verifying services loaded failed. Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Environment

Cause

  • Registry key EnableLUA is missing.

Resolution

  • Contact IT to change the policy so EnableLUA key is not removed from registry.

For Temporary Operation

  1. Look in registry location to verify EnableLUA is missing:  localmachine\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\System
  2. If EnableLUA is missing then go to User Account Settings:  Control Panel > User Accounts >  Change User Account Control Settings.
  3. Move the slider up or down and then back to original location.
  4. Verify EnableLUA key is now showing in the registry.
  5. Launch Venus 1500.
