DMP-7000: How to Initialize Overlay Mode through Display Studio

Topic

  • How to Initialize Overlay Mode through Display Studio with a DMP-7000 Controller?

An 'Initialize VIP' button can be used to configure your Daktronics Video Image Processor (i.e. VIP-4400, VIP-4500) to your pre-determined desired settings.  This button allows for a quick re-set of your VIP to put it in Overlay Mode.

This article provides instructions and recommendations on how to create a button that will initialize the VIP for overlay mode. The lines of script can change the VIP's output channels to reflect settings such as the desired video input, source, viewable and window areas, and key colors.  This button may be used when the VIP's settings have been changed and must be 'reset' to your desired settings.  The VIP does not need to be initialized regularly, and should only be done on the initial boot up or if settings have been changed.

Environment

  • DMP-7000
  • VIP-4400 or VIP-4500
  • Show Control Display Studio

Version 2.32 of Show Control is the last version to support DMP-7000 or Venus 7000. If you are interested in upgrading to the newest technology, visit Daktronics Professional Services to learn more.  https://www.daktronics.com/en-us/markets/sports/service
